NGMS -IMS program Phase II started in January 2000 and was approved by the IMS as an extension to the original NGMS IMS project. It has four workpackages, each with several major tasks. Unlike Phase I where each workpackage was the responsibility of a region, in Phase II all the Tasks are interregional with partners from each region collaborating closely with each other in every task.

Workpackage 1 is a continuation of the same workpackage from Phase I. Workpackages 4, 5 and 6 build up the developments acheived in workpackage 3 of NGMS Phase I.

Phase II - Workpackage 1

Descriptions, Characteristics, Requirements and Information Integration

This Workpackage provides the framework for the NGMS-IMS project.

Task 1.1 contains the description of NGMS and it has evolved from the NGMS-IMS project Phase I efforts. These descriptions will be incorporated into the Characteristics and Requirements of the NGMS.

Task 1.2 contains the Characteristics and Requirements of NGMS they will continue to be develop as the project enters Phase II activities.

Task 1.3 will continue to ensure that the guidelines used (e.g., object-oriented modeling) within Workpackages 4, 5 and 6 will be consistent and that the resultant simulators and models present a consistent representation of the NGMS.   Top
