References Related SIRs Suggested Resolution Support Documentation Resolution Warning!!The following statement is only a resolution to a Standard Improvement Request (SIR) and is NOT part of the current DMIS standard, nor is it guaranteed to become part of the next revision of the DMIS standard even if voted and accepted by the DMIS National Standards Committee. This resolution is tentative because it may not be incorporated into the next version of the standard, it could be changed prior to the next release, or it could be changed as the result of the "public review and comment" period required for the next version of the standard. If you choose to use this tentative resolution, you do so at your own risk since at this time it is not part of the DMIS standard.
This solution solves 8 SIRS, SIR 97-22, 98-3,98-79,98-106, 99-4, 99-5,99-7,and 99-8; The following commands were changed or added. They are described in the Sensor White Paper attached to SIR 97-22 resolution. SNSDEF added format7 BUILD; Changed output formats for all 6 formats SENSOR new major word GROUP new major word; - pt/line/area scanners; - multitip probes; WRIST new major word REFMNT new major word EXTENS new major word SNSGRP new major word SNSLCT specify wrist angles; Tip numbers; Feature axes; Ijk, ang_tol; Sensor groups; CALIB reworded notes THLDEF added wrists, extensions, SC(label) SNSET added MINCON,level to define minium confidence level for optical sensors SCSNS added to intrinsic functions SNSMNT updated wording and the offset. VALUE added sensor information Attachments Notes Added by Mike Holloway, hkm@ornl.gov on 7/30/1998 I could not find any reference to this SIR (other than existance in Gaithersburg minutes of 4/97) in any of the meeting minutes. The referral notice must have been written on the original SIR only. Yes, a PROBE type sensor is the only type that can be output at the present time. No, all sensor types can be calibrated using the CALIB statement if the DME supports it. Sensors can be calibrated outside of DMIS, and the CALIB statement could be ignored. There is probably not enough experience on the DNSC with sensor types other than PROBEs to define an output format for the actuals for the other sensor types.
Added by Interpretation Sub-Committee, gph5@chrysler.com on 8/5/1998 Accept Mike's answer as written. Table this SIR until the Seattle meeting and get the industry experts to answer this. |
